From beginning to end, Daniel was honestly nothing short of amazing. I reached out to Daniel to assist me in photographing my engagement/proposal and he helped me conceptualize the day, gave me tips on how to keep everything a secret from my now fiancé and on the day, Daniel somehow made all the nerves disappear. Through the use of his quirky jokes and bubbly personality, Daniel somehow managed to make us feel extremely comfortable in front of the camera (and managed to maintain the secret too!). Daniel West, wow, where do we begin… An absolutely brilliant photographer is an understatement. He is an artist and so incredibly passionate about he’s work. From our engagment shoot, we knew that this is the person we need to shoot out wedding day. We knew he was the best from day 1. “Sometimes there is no next time. No second chance. No time out. It is now or never”

I am all head and Jeanette is all hart. She the extrovert that never says no for a photo opportunity or social media, I on the other hand prefer to live my life privately with moments captured in my memory.

I am a person for the detail, fussy and a bit OCD and she the go with the flow, all smiles and pleasing. And so with this challenge at hand Jeanette set out to find that photographer/artist that would tick all of the boxes. Over a coffee in the good old days before lockdown (for which I was late) I rushed into what was Bootleggers, bit flustered and still hype from my meeting that overran. Jeanette was having coffee with Daniel already. I just fell into the conversation and within minutes I felt very comfortable. There was just that chemistry, which to Jeanette and I was the deciding factor if we were deadlocked on who to pick.

We had to postpone our Nuptials three times – thank you C19; but Daniel stuck with us, and we with him because of that chemistry. (Only later did we find out about all his awards and accolades.)

On our big day he was present, but not there. That made such a difference as one could just be. Be yourself, be in the moment and actually experience your own wedding. Never did it feel like he was intruding or interrupting the flow he just blended in seamlessly. By then he had gotten to know us which also made  us feel at ease, never did it feel like  photoshoot or pictures force posed like models. His calm and engaging demeanor made  those “mandatory” pictures a fun event without detracting from US………………and when we were alone with just him it always felt like we could breath, exhale, soak in that one day, a minute at a time whilst he was working his magic.

It has now been 11 days since our BIG day and whilst he is looking us look fab working away in his studio we cant wait to see the final product. We know it will be memories captured to be remembered and shared –  that will be timeless and part of our perfect day.

It was an absolute pleasure working with Daniel. He was able captured the the important moments of the wedding and give insight into how the vide was on our special day through his photographs. We really appreciate your creativity and direction through out the day. We also applaud you on having patience and making us feel comfortable at every moment. Thank you for capturing the wedding as if it was through our eyes.

I don’t have to say anything about the photos Daniel took. Our wedding photos are out of this world. And everyone can see that.
But what people can’t see looking at these photos is that the same quality and professionalism that everyone can see on photos is happening behind the camera.

It is shame that people who see our photos will never know how awesome is that person who took these photos.

Daniel constantly made us laugh. Before the wedding I was worried that I don’t know what to do in front of the camera but Daniel was brilliant guiding us! And even though we had a time limit and tight schedule I didn’t feel rushed at any point on my wedding day. He created a very relaxing atmosphere and also worked very well together with a videographer.

The day after wedding, when we finally had time to check our phones we found that Daniel had already sent us our first sneak peak photos! What? How is this possible? Did he even sleep?

As we started to plan our wedding in Seychelles the first thing we did was searching for a great photographer there. It came out, that we just didn’t like the style. Honestly if I think back to the wedding there’s a few emotional experiences that were special because of the family element, but of all the providers I can only sing your praises! You made me feel so comfortable and relaxed as a bride.

Now days, a part of getting ready and preparing to walk down the isle involves the pictures with the bridesmaids in gowns… This was almost awkward for me because of the fit of the gown (yes it flew open once or twice), but you never reacted – your calmness was a delight and I would recommend you to anyone anytime, any day!

Also, now that we’ve seen some family members after the wedding and coming back from honeymoon, I’ve heard 3 couples say you were excellent! This speaks to your professional  conduct and friendliness. Lastly, a special thanks for making the best of the cold and rainy weather.

Finding a good wedding photographer can be stressful. Getting someone who can accurately capture the essence of one’s relationship is a rare thing. We are fortunate to call Niel, who just happens to be the most amazing photographer in the world, our close friend. It was therefore an easy decision to book him to shoot our wedding.

We have seen some of his work previously, and so knew that he was a talented photographer. What really blew us away however, was his absolute professionalism, passion and dedication to the shoot. His skill in making the best of fading sunlight on a late afternoon in woodland is a wonder.

Daniel……… hoe se n mens dankie vir fotos wat ons vir die res van ons lewens sal koester!!!!!!Baie dankie vir nie net hoe jy ons tweeling gevang het in moederskoot nie maar vir die mens wat jy is en die fisie vir ons Maternity Shoot jy het ons laat lag al die pad en ons van die mooiste fotos gegee wat n lewenslange duur sal he nie net in ons harte nie maar ook in ons gange van die huis en in die albums op ons rakke daar is baie mense wat Kan fotos neem maar waarlik het ons goud getref toe ons iemand soos jy gekry het wat ons HARTE ook kon afneem!!!!!! Jy het n dag wat ons nie gedink het sou ooit kom vir ons nie n realiteit op foto kom maak ons is jou ewig dankbaar!!!!

That is probably the last thing professional photographer Daniel West expected on Saturday 16 April 2016. As we all know, the life of professional photographers consists of endless hours out in the field, not to mention the administration and editing that often keeps them awake for days…
However, true commitment came from professional West, during an exquisite wedding day of Michelle & Michael at L’Aquila Country Estate on Saturday 16th April 2016. The day could not be more perfect when at the last minute the couple’s initial photographer cancelled due to family responsibility. Time was of the essence as the preparation and excitement of this special day could not be remembered by thought only.
We at L’Aquila Country Estate took only a few moments to realize that there could only be one professional photographer to save the day, even though of his busy schedule. The call was made, another shoot postponed and the day turned out perfect due to one person realizing the dreams of a couple who was just starting the rest of their lives together.

Myself and my wife Jeanika Jacobs got married on the 27th of February this year and we were privileged enough to have Daniel West as our wedding photographer.

Daniel West exceeded all our expectations and captured our special day as a true fairytale depicted through his photographs.

Every picture captured our love for each other, for our baby girl and the love we have for our family and friends. Daniel, you are absolutely awesome! Never stop doing what you do! The passion you have for what you do is overwhelming and we could not have asked for anybody better to capture the moments of our special day! There are no words to describe how awesome you are and how thankful Willie and I are.

For our wedding day, the best advice we got was to not disappoint ourselves on two things: 1. Have awesome rings and 2. have awesome photos.  These are the things that are going to last forever and be a nostalgic trip down memory lane in many years to come.  Daniel West was our ‘top of the list’ choice for the photographs and he delivered on everything we expected and more.  The final products we received from him was of superb quality.  The way the photographs were captured on the day was also a pleasure.  We were comfortable with having the photographers around us at all times.  each picture turned out as a work of art fit for any gallery.

We got married on the 7th of December 2012 and heard of Daniel West from a friend, we met with Daniel a few times discussing ideas. He was polite, friendly and made us feel very comfortable from the start.

We enjoyed doing a very fun pre wedding shoot with him (needless to say the photos came out stunning) he really captured our relationship. I really love the pre wedding shoot photos. I had such an amazing bridal party we also decided to do a bridesmaid shoot which the girls loved it was so much fun.Finally we got to the wedding, and Daniel West Photography was there with us through every step, to capture every moment.

Our photos came out stunning! Natural! I could not believe how they captured the finer details of our special day. The albums came together so nicely. Telling the whole days story from beginning to end.

Daniel really went above and beyond for our wedding day, even with us planning from a different country Daniel was able to capture our special day and make us feel so relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera! We loved working with him, he really added that extra touch to our day and was just phenomenal!

From beginning to end, Daniel was honestly nothing short of amazing. I reached out to Daniel to assist me in photographing my engagement/proposal and he helped me conceptualize the day, gave me tips on how to keep everything a secret from my now fiancé and on the day, Daniel somehow made all the nerves disappear. Through the use of his quirky jokes and bubbly personality, Daniel somehow managed to make us feel extremely comfortable in front of the camera (and managed to maintain the secret too!). Last but most certainly not least, the photo’s (and video) came out EXECPTIONALLY and I couldn’t be happier that Daniel was there to allow us to cherish this incredible moment forever.
