SAFARI WEDDING – MONGENA GAME LODGE
Rowan & Christina
Christina and Rowan met in Botswana while Rowan was a bush pilot and Christina was a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer. Christina is now a brilliant free-lance photographer, with a passion for wildlife photography, and we now live in Indonesia (Rowan’s still a bush pilot and he’s loving it). you can follow her work https://www.instagram.com/existence_now/
Since they had such a passion for the bushveld, what better place to have their wedding in the heart of South Africa, surrounded by wildlife, and bushveld!
Mongena Game Reserve offered it all. even a little sneak peek of a Cheetah or two 🙂
I loved every moment of the wedding, and was excited to see Christina having such passion for photography, so much so that she had to grab a few shots of her own during the wedding. it was such a blast and blessing!
Many of you might be wondering what that metal part is in some of the wedding detail photographs. I wondered myself, and so Christina and Rowan explained that its part of a Concor Turbine engine (jip, a place part) which is very difficult to get your hards on, this small peace of equipment has traveled past the speed of sound at least more than 4 times in a single trip. Christina got her hands on one, and made Rowans ring with it…his ring is really really smooth, and feels so nice!
But not only that…Christina learned for the first time how to “Spoeg Bok Drolletjies” something South Africans love to do in their spare time…you know. I even had a go at it, but must say Rowan was the winner there, truly out spoeged us 🙂 They’ve enjoyed a beautiful champagne next to the vast river during sunset.
But the highlight for me, was that their wedding was small and intimate, having family and friends from all over the world, all come together in one location to celebrate their love, its a blessing on their own.
But without further adue, here are some of their wedding photogrpahs
– Please be patient while the photographs are loading –
I Have truly loved every moment of their wedding, from spitting bok drolletjies, to sipping champaign next to the river.
I wish you both the most amazing adventure together
