The first wedding I ever assisted at – not second shooting, or even shooting at all – was with Daniel West. I had no idea how to even shoot in manual. I held flashes and reflectors and felt part of the team. I learned so much that day. When I knew absolutely nothing, Daniel not only allowed me to tag along, but made me feel welcome and inspired to pursue a career in wedding photography.
Since then, I’ve assisted and been a second shooter for Daniel many times, and I’ve watched him and his business grow from strength to strength. His eye and passion for capturing each wedding uniquely make him one of a kind. Above this, he is one of the most relaxed, friendly, and kindest photographers I have ever worked with. He never holds back when it comes to answering questions and teaching (and I know I ask annoyingly many questions!).
When booking a mentorship session or workshop with Daniel, you will learn technical skills, but his passion for what he does is what will leave you feeling inspired and excited to capture moments in time that people can treasure for the rest of their lives.
